Sheep Nutrition 2: Advanced Nutrition

We are pleased to welcome Kate Phillips, Senior Lecturer from Harper Adam for the Second module in our Sheep Nutrition course: Advanced Nutrition.

This module will build on knowledge from the basic nutrition course or the basic Sheep modular course provided by WVSC.

1. Working out protein supply in late pregnancy and lactation
2. Metabolic profiles
3. Feeding the ewe in lactation
4. Feeding growing and finishing lambs
5. Case studies

Kate is a senior lecturer at Harper Adams University teaching in ruminant production and nutrition with a special emphasis on sheep production.  She spent 30 years working in ADAS as a nutritionist and sheep specialist working across the food chain from farm to retailer and for government and levy bodies.  She has also worked as an independent sheep consultant.
